Regular Social Bowling Activities
Dress Code for social bowling: relaxed casual wear. Flat soled shoes are a requirement.
Bowls are available to be played with and should remain at the club for all to use. If you want to buy your own equipment, then ask advice beforehand, it can get expensive!
Social Bowling: Monday and Thursday afternoons (weather permitting). 1.45pm to sign in for start of play at 2pm. Around 90 minutes of bowling followed by a cuppa. Teams are randomly picked so it’s a chance to get to know other members.
Improving and developing
Coaching can be arranged for any player wishing to improve their skills.
Informal training sessions are occasionally organised throughout the season on Saturday afternoons – See the club notice board. Never be afraid to ask other members for advice and guidance!
Team playing and competitions
For all team and club competitions there is a more formal dress code: Dress Code for team bowling – club shirt / pale blue polo shirt and plain grey trousers, skirt or shorts and flat soled shoes are a requirement.
Friendly team matches: Against other local clubs, either on our green or at theirs. The perfect opportunity to experience competitive play in a relaxed way, don’t be nervous to give it a go. See the club notice board for dates.
Club competitions: Club membership includes free entry to all our internal club knock-out trophy competitions. Individual and pairs competitions are available, you will be paired with another member randomly. Enter at the time of membership. Club competitions take place throughout the season against other club members, culminating in the finals weekend at the end of August. Please enter! It’s a great way to learn and improve. Details and rules of all competitions will be on the notice board.
Local bowling leagues: We have teams entered in many local bowling leagues. Both day and evening leagues are available. There is no additional fee for members to play in these leagues.

Social Events
Our 2025 diary of events:
Coming soon!
In 2024 we raised over £1800 to go towards the Club’s funds.
These events can only take place if we have enough ‘pairs of hands’: if you can help in any way please be ready to volunteer. The Social Committee needs new members too.
Please remember to keep checking the noticeboards in the clubhouse for information about these events, team and league updates, other events and competitions etc. Any questions? Just ask somebody.
Our club is all about being sociable, so please join in. Our planned social events are to raise much needed funds for the club too. Fun fund-raising events are held during the season – pig racing / treasure hunt etc as well as our main planned club events:
